It is located on the Pacific Northwest coast of the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste Province minutes by foot to Playa Azul. The area has been designated as one of the world's five Blue Zones - "hot-spots having common healthy traits and life practices that result in higher-than-normal longevity" - a mecca for the holistic and healing arts practice.
Retreat Arrival & Departure
This Private Retreat starts on Wednesday at 3pm, and completes on Sunday at 12:00pm.
We recommend that you add a day before the retreat starts so you can relax and enjoy your retreat experience to the fullest.If you need shuttle services from the Liberia Airport to Azul Ocean Club Hotel, please reserve your shuttle via the hotel upon your hotel booking. The shuttle ride from Liberia Airport to the hotel takes approximately 2 hours.
Transportation
Liberia International Airport
We suggest flying into Liberia (Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport) that is a 2-hour drive to the resort.
The airport is expanding and more flight selections are opening up every day.
San Jose International Airport
The San Jose International Airport (Juan Santamaria) is a 5-hour drive. If you choose to fly into San Jose, you can opt to rent a car, take a bus, or fly the short flight on Nature Air or Sansa Air.
By Car
If you choose to rent a car, there are many options, Alamo, Budget, Economy, etc. These sites can be found online by googling them + Liberia, Costa Rica. We recommend you reserve your car when you purchase your airline tickets and confirm all car rental costs for what exactly is included. You can save some $$ by consulting with your credit card company (AmEx has a good program) regarding car rental insurance.

All payments are strictly non-refundable. The entirety of any amount paid for the retreat is not refundable and there are no exceptions, rescheduling or refunds due to cancellations for any reason. This includes any cancellations due to issues with health, transportation, or *force majeure. We highly recommend that you obtain CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason) travel insurance. *Force majeure means any unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control including, but not limited to, threat of war, riot, civil unrest, strikes, pandemics, epidemics, quarantines, resort technical problems, transport issues, governmental regulations, closure or congestion of airports, terrorist activity, natural disasters, industrial disasters, fire, flooding and adverse weather conditions. The retreat with Freddy and Elsbeth was beyond wonderful
It allowed space for much needed healing and connecting between Philip and I, and gave us tools that we’ll continue to use as we grow with one another and deal with life’s everyday lessons and opportunities for growth. We couldn’t have asked for two better guides and friends during such a transformational experience. In order to get anything out of a workshop retreat such as this, you have to be quite vulnerable and open, and Freddy and Elsbeth were extremely supportive and loving… creating a space of openness, safety, love, and acceptance. The group dynamic was also wonderful. We came as strangers and left as great friends– recognizing that we all have so much in common… our struggles, our insecurities, and our victories. It seemed as though each person’s “story” was a little piece of our own. We greatly enjoyed the whole experience and would highly recommend this workshop to any couple looking to open up, connect, and gain tools for deeper intimacy and healing.
